Tourism & Leisure Photography Glasgow
My first professional assignment as a photographer was for the Isle of Arran Tourist Board in 1996 and this is an area I have continued to specialise in since. Photography for the tourism and leisure industry requires a special set of skills, as not only does it encompass the ability to tackle familiar subjects such as landscapes but also interiors, activities and people.
Images of people are often the most difficult to source and I have built up wealth of experience in creating these types of images for clients. Prior to the restructuring of the Scottish Area Tourist Boards, I worked with Edinburgh and Lothians, Greater Glasgow & Clyde Valley, Kingdom of Fife, Perthshire and Ayrshire and Arran.
More recent work includes Visit Scotland, The Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and Visit Shetland. This later shoot included working with a mixture of professional models and members of the public, in order to create a range of images that could be used to promote the islands. Some of this work can be seen in the Tourism section of this website.
Other tourism and leisure photography includes work for companies such as Mercat Tours, Mary King’s Close and Caledonian MacBrayne.
